Genesis 46:21 names him as a son of Bin-Yamin, and brother of Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Na'aman, Echi, Rosh, Mupim and Ard.
1 Chronicles 7:12 names Chupim as a son of Dan, for whom Machir found a wife in 7:15. The full list of the genealogy of Bin-Yamin is given in 1 Chronicles 7:6-11, with "Shupim also, and Chupim, the sons of Ir, Chushim, the son of another [or possibly "the son of Acher" - Acher means "other" in Yehudit]" added in verse 13, but seemingly as non-family attached to the tribe, rather than as "actual" family.
The name means "coverings" according to some sources; Gesenius prefers to link it with Chof (חוף) = "seashore" and see the Chupim as seaside dwellers, which would be most odd for Benjamites as they were a landlocked tribe (maybe there was a marriage).
